At the beginning of May 2010 the vacancy rate in shopping centres of Kyiv was no more than 1.5-2%. The vacancy rate of office spaces in the capital has reached 13-15%. During April rental rates for commercial property in Kyiv were relatively stable.
However, if analytics forecast the rise of rental rates in shopping centres, rental rates in business centres will remain the same due to the rise of vacancy. According to Yaroslav Ivanov, Director of Marketing Management Department at NAI Pickard, at the moment shopping centres are trying to estimate the possibility of increasing rental rates, testing new maximums.
