During the period of economic “renaissance” (that is how the pre-crisis period is called by many Ukrainian citizens) retail real estate market in Ukraine was very attractive for local as well as international investors. It is confirmed by statistics. In 2007 the volume of investment in retail was 7 632 286 000 UAH. The retail turnover in the same year reached 318 725.3 million UAH.
Crisis, certainly, has amended the development of this market. Negative consequences of financial and economic instability were felt by developers and retailers, many projects were put on hold. What is the current situation on the Ukrainian retail property market? What are the forecasts in the short-term perspective?
