On 17-19 March 2011, NAI Pickard together with other British businesses and brands operating in Ukraine participated in the British Business Days in Ukraine (BBDU) event at the retail centre Globus in Kyiv. This was a major high-profile event to showcase the best of British. Britain is the sixth largest investor into Ukraine, with $2.3 billion invested (5.4% of total FDI). Participating companies promoted their goods and services demonstrating the strength of British business in Ukraine.
On 17th March NAI Pickard and their invited guests attended a “Business to Business” (B2B) conference involving a high-level panel of leading British and Ukrainian businessmen such as Petro Poroshenko, Mohammad Zahoor, Viktor Pinchuk and others. The main issue of the discussion was the improvement of the investment climate in Ukraine, and a call for further actions to improve this.
The discussion was followed by a gala reception, which was attended by many top level invited guests from government and business.
On 18th March, as a part of the British Business Days, there was a meeting with Prime Minister Azarov and representatives of British companies, where the businessmen could receive specific answers to such sore questions as VAT returns, elimination of corruption and other problems which are hindering business development in Ukraine.
At the exhibition NAI Pickard presented its new division – Pickard Exclusive Homes, which consults on overseas residential property and currently offers properties in countries such as Spain, Italy and Sri Lanka. It was obvious from the exhibition that there is a demand for such a professional service from Ukrainian citizens as there are increasingly more people planning to buy a holiday home or make a secure investment in real estate at the right time.
During the BBDU event NAI Pickard also organized an ‘open doors’ in their office inviting clients and associates for English ‘High Tea’ , where it presented their new products and services for 2011. Bearing in mind the popularity of Afternoon Tea in England NAI Pickard’s guests could experience the pleasure of sipping a cup of freshly brewed Ceylon tea served with a variety of accompaniments to refresh body & mind while viewing the day-to-day activities of the leading commercial property consultant in Ukraine.
