A master-class on the topic "Marketing shopping centre: how to improve the profitability of the object?” was held on December 11, 2009 in the large conference room of “Parus” business centre. The event was organized by NAI Pickard (Ukraine), the author of the master class was Tatiana Aster, a leading specialist in shopping centre marketing in Russia and the founder of REM Agency (Moscow, Russia). The event was announced as a joint non-profit project and was attended by more than 35 students, representing different shopping centres of many cities of Ukraine. Among the participants were developers, consultants, directors and marketing specialists of shopping centres.
Founder of NAI Pickard, Terry Pickard, spoke about the prospects of commercial real estate in Ukraine. Showing the examples of interest of foreign retailers in the Ukrainian market, Mr. Pickard expressed optimism about the successful development of shopping centres in our country.
The speakers at master-class were also employees of NAI Pickard Yaroslav Ivanov and Dmitry Topolskov. Their presentations were devoted to existing opportunities of shopping centres, results of research of today’s audience in shopping centres and what kind of efficiency can be achieved in a shopping centre right now: turnover of retail operators, store traffic, lease rates.
The main speaker at the event was Tatiana Aster. Showing specific examples of working with shopping centres in Russia, she spoke on such topics as positioning, branding, dealing with competitors, effective promotion of the shopping centre. In her speech, Mrs. Astaire described how already today we can maximize the attractiveness of the property for buyers, retail operators and investors. Approaches used by Russian specialist with concrete results prove to be effective for Ukrainian audience.
Colleagues-participants of master class highly estimated this event. According to a survey conducted by the organizers, the vast majority of students expressed an unambiguous desire to participate in further workshops. Taking into account numerous requests of the audience, NAI Pickard and REM Agency at the moment are considering future topics and formats of further joint events.
